The Liberia National Police has ended a three day fascinating football Tournament over the weekend February 14-16 2019 under the Theme: ‘’Making a Positive change’’ which took place at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium.

The Tournament which brought together Teams from Police Administration, Sections, Divisions and the Eleven Police Zones in and around Monrovia was intended to bring officers of different disciplines at the LNP together in a peaceful atmosphere as a means of fostering peace and unity.

The opening match between Administration and Zone Nine ended 2 goals to zero in favor of
Administration, Kabina T. Kamara found the back of the net in the 23rd minute of the first half and Hon.
Patrick T. Sudue, the Inspector General of Police sealed the day for Administration with a Penalty goal.
Day two of the competition, the Crime Services Division (CSD) dragged Zone four 5 goals to 1. With Ayouba Kanneh of the Crime Services Division (CSD) receiving a Red Card for intentionally hitting his opponent from Zone Eight with his fist, meaning he will not play in next year competition.

After the knock out stage of the competition, Zone Eleven, Administration, Police Support Unit (PSU) and Zone Ten went to the Simi-Final where Administration whipped Zone Eleven 2 goals to 1 thereby qualifying for the Grand final, the Police Support Unit (PSU) secured a 2-1 win over Zone Ten which also qualify them to the grand final.
In the grand final of the competition, Administration clashed with the Police Support Unit (PSU) in the full ninety minutes which ended a 1-1 draw. Finally, the Police Support Unit emerged Champion of the Tournament by defeating Administration 5-3 in a penalty shootout.

A Special ceremony is expected very shortly at the Headquarters of the Liberia National Police where the giant size trophy will be presented to the Champion Team and other awards to deserving players and Teams that participated in the competition.
