Brewerville Residents Turn Over Modern Police Station to LNP

The Liberia National Police on Thursday, June 14, 2018 officially received and dedicated a Police detail in Kplekor Town Community, Brewerville, Montserrado County.
The newly dedicated Police station which is estimated at over Four hundred, fifty five thousand, five hundred, fifty four dollars (L$455,554) was constructed by residents of Kplekor Town.
According to Hon. Ewind T. Johnson, Dey Governor of Kpekor Town, the project was the Citizen’s own way of buttressing government’s effort in realizing the pro poor agenda as it relates to security.
Also making remarks during the dedicatory ceremony, Commissioner Edwin J. Mathis, expressed his excitement over the citizens’ initiative for taking security as their priority. He urged community members to work with the police to create a safe environment.
For his part, Hon. Robert W. Budy, Sr., Deputy Inspector General of Police for Operations lauded members of the community for making history. He said since the ascendency of the new leadership of the Liberia National Police, it is the first Police station that has been dedicated and turned over to the Liberia National Police.
Hon. Budy pledged the LNP’s commitments to working with the citizens of Brewerville and the country at large in achieving its statutory mandate. He reemphasized the LNP’s commitment to robustly protect lives and property.
The Deputy Police Inspector General urged other communities to emulate the good example of the Kpehkor community. He added, “It is very welcoming and appreciating to see community dwellers spend their money to ensure their security. Other communities need to follow suit in guaranteeing their own security.”
Since the inception of the government of President George Weah, this is the first community initiative undertaken by the people of Brewerville. It brings to two the number of Police stations that have been built by residents of Brewerville under a self initiative without government spending any amount.
|Meanwhile, residents of Brewerville, Zone six have overwhelmingly lauded the leadership of Zone 6 General Commander, Chief Superintendent Blama Yancy for his astute community policing leadership which has motivated residents to successfully construct two modern Police Stations.
They however called on authorities of the LNP to provide all necessary support to Chief Superintendent Yancy in maintaining the two modern Police stations.
