Two Men Arrested for Duplicating Over 2 Million Liberian Dollars

The Liberia National Police has arrested, investigated charged and forwarded to the Monrovia City Court two Sierra Leonean nationals for multiple crimes such as Criminal Conspiracy, Forgery and Economic Sabotage.
Suspects Ismael Kamara and Emerson Bockarie Kallon were arrested on April 26, 2018 between Benson and Gurley Streets in Monrovia while duplicating/printing Liberian Dollar bank notes.
Police investigation noted that the two suspected criminals were involved in the sale of ladies hand-bags as a cover-up to their unscrupulous activity. The investigation further revealed that they have been residing in Liberia from the 24th of January 2018 without a valid resident permit.
Police investigators gathered that the two Sierra Leoneans purposely entered Liberia to defraud the economy of Liberia by infusing into the local market over two million, five hundred thousand (L$2,500,000) faked Liberian dollars which has caused economic lost to the Republic between the periods 24 January and 26 of April 2018.
The LNP terms the act by the two alleged criminals as gross violation of Chapter 10 and 15 Section 10.4, 15.70 and 15.80 of the revised Penal Law of the Republic of Liberia.
